HUMAN CONNECTION IN THE AGE OF AI

Immersive Futures is a commissioned work by the The RITHM Project, a nonprofit dedicated to exploring human connection in the age of artificial intelligence. The experience invites audiences into a series of possible futures where AI has already reshaped everyday life, particularly how young people use technology to augment learning, relationships, and identity.

Hosted at Lone Rock Retreat in Bailey, Colorado, the audience is composed of educators, technologists, and thought leaders gathered for a 3-day retreat focused on the future of AI in education. Over the course of the experience, participants encounter four immersive scenes developed by OddKnock Productions in close collaboration with The RITHM Project. Each scene imagines a different societal response to a world shaped by pervasive AI infrastructure.

These moments include a dating game mediated by competing AI agents, a sales demonstration for a next-generation cochlear implant designed to assist students, an anti-technology club dedicated to rediscovering human connection, and an intergenerational time capsule embodied by an AI companion.

Following the performance, participants engage in a guided debrief that helps them interpret the experience and carry its insights into the remainder of the retreat’s conversations and commitments.
